Show the Decision, Not Just the Code

How to make an analytics portfolio more credible and useful.

Technical work matters, but a portfolio is not a code archive. It is evidence that you can identify a meaningful question, choose an appropriate method, and communicate what the result means.

For each project, explain:

  • The business or operational problem
  • The data available
  • The analytical choices you made
  • The most important finding
  • The decision the work could support
  • The limitations you would discuss with a stakeholder

Code and dashboards support that story. They should not be the entire story.

The goal is to help a reader imagine trusting you with their own ambiguous problem.
